His greatest work was THE REAL FAITH.
This incredible work is, in my opinion, the definitive word on the subject of faith. If this book had been read during the Faith Movement, the problems and bad teachings that plagued that movement never would have happened. Please read this book and have your faith (true faith!) built up!
Biography:
Charles S. Price was born in England in 1887. When he was two years old his mother died in childbirth. When his father remarried Charles' stepmother was described by him as 'no one could be a sweeter or nobler woman'. He went through school and college. After working for a solicitor he became restless and went to Canada and then moved on to Spokane. It was here that God called him to serve Him. He was ordained and was pleased with his ministry. Dr. Price had a successful career as a minister, a period of his life that he describes himself as 'spiritually blind, leading his people into a ditch'.
Dr. Price moved to California where he was pastor of a supportive church. He considered himself a modernist preacher with a modern church. And then... a member of the congregation told him about how he had received the Holy Ghost. Others in the church had the same experience and Dr. Price became envious and was determined to stop this nonsense.
Dr. Price went to where this revival was going on. On the third night he ended up on the platform. When the alter call came for sinners to be saved, Dr. Price publicly chose to go forward. The Spirit of God came over him and he was filled with joy. A few nights later he received the glorious baptism of the Holy Spirit.
Back at his own church, Dr. Price preached Christ and Him crucified and the power of God was there for the members of his church. A revival was underway. In 1922 Dr. Price left the church to begin an evangelical mission. He was now a preacher anointed by God and many thousands of people attended his crusades. In a three week crusade in Vancouver 250,000 people heard him preach.
There was a new factor to be considered. Dr. Price prayed for healing and people were healed. God healed thousands of people of their illnesses and diseases at these meetings. Most of these healings were recorded, a sworn affidavit was obtained from the people and the initial diagnosis was confirmed with their doctors.
Dr. Price died in 1947. His ministry was one which demonstrated the power of God. It is the great commission to all Christians. Preach the gospel to the world and God will confirm His Word with signs following. Mark 16: 15-18
